Yapham Cottages are set in two acres of grounds which incorporate a woodland, gardens, an orchard and a large paddock, all reached from a half-mile long private driveway. We manage the grounds in a wildlife friendly way and encourage birds to frequent the cottages by keeping our bird feeders well topped up!
Such a beautiful, peaceful, countryside setting attracts a wide variety of wildlife: a huge range of birds visiting the feeders, pheasants wander the grounds, laugh at the antics of the squirrels, spot deer and hares along the driveway, butterflies and bees frequenting the flowers, or just watch the grazing sheep and cattle in neighbouring fields.
Being in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is so much more wildlife and fauna to discover in the neighbourhood.
Here is a selection of photographs taken by various guests during their stays at Yapham, and kindly donated to us for our use.
